Is achievable an Artificial Intelligence driven supply chain?
Few days ago I was invited to contribute in slimstock logistics innovation forum held in Barcelona's UAO University. Most concretely I was invited to share my vision on how Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning might flip-back the supply chain as we know it.
The session brought lots of insights but from my perspective I would like to remark next highlights:
- Autonomous transportation systems (Cars, Flights, Boats, Trains...) will provide to the supply chain enormous elasticity and shorter lead times.
- Supply chain professionals should feel in a hurry to develop robotics-wise capabilities
- Your first Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning projects must start small and be tested quickly for later fine tuning.
- Before developing ambition make a self-assesment of where your organization is in terms of analytical culture... does it makes sense to go AI/ML if your basic analytical scenarios are not running smoothly?
